Anderson is a contemporary dancer, teacher and choreographer. He started his dance career at the School of Dance and Social Integration for Children and Adolescents, EDISCA in Brazil, first as a student, later as a teacher, performer and choreographer. Anderson has studied Contemporary Dance, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance (Graham), Partnering, Composition, Circus and Theatre.
As a performer he has worked together with choreographers Dora Andrade (Brazil), Gilano Andrade (Brazil), Marcelo Evelin (Brazil), Raúl Saldarriaga (Colombia and Netherlands), Gabriella Maiorino (Italy), Zee Hartmaan (USA and South Africa), Louise Coetezer (South Africa) and Anthropologist Anne Sophie Gosselin (France), amongst others.
He participated in several performances in Brazil, New York, Europe and South Africa.
After launching his career in Brazil, and living and working for some years in Europe, he came to South Africa to give another international dimension to his career.
Anderson has broad teaching experience. He has been teaching dance and drama for several years at EDISCA, Brazil. He has been giving classes at private schools in the Netherlands and has been working as guest teacher and choreographer at Dance For All for the last two years. He has been giving classes and workshops to DFA's Bridging and Senior Contemporary Programs, and choreographed for InSPIRAtions Youth Company, working together with Philip Boyd.
As a socially engaged artist he has developed a dance workshop, emphasizing floor work, strength and physical energy in his choreographic vocabulary. Although Anderson is already a very experienced and well-recognized dancer, choreographer and teacher, he is currently formalizing his education at University of Cape Town.
